Since when do kids rule the roost?

If you can get past the confrontational title of Elizabeth Kolbert’s New Yorker article “Spoiled Rotten: Why Do Kids Rule the Roost?”, you will discover why this article has been generating a great deal of buzz over the last couple of weeks.  In an era in which many  “parents want their kids’ approval, a reversal of the past ideal of children striving for their parents’ approval,” our children have also “been granted unprecedented authority” that may be creating a new species: “adultescents.”  Worth your time.
